The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) at HITEC University, Taxila, successfully organized the HVACR Students Innovation Conference and Project Expo 2025, highlighting innovative solutions and fostering collaboration between academia and industry. The event was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Liaqat Ali, Director ORIC.
Engr. Ramzan Sharif, President of the Pakistan HVACR Society, attended the event as the Chief Guest. Brig. (R) Imran, Director HITEWT; Prof. Dr. S. Kamran Afaq, Vice Chancellor HITEC University; and Prof. Dr. Junaid Ali Khan, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, graced the event with their presence. Their participation reflected the university’s strong commitment to promoting research-driven innovation and academic excellence. Distinguished participants included Dr. Mansoor Ahmad Baloch, CEO Punjab Higher Education Commission; Prof. Dr. Adeel Akram, UET Taxila; Engr. Ijaz Bashir Janjua, from Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah; and Dr. Fahad, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Students from HITEC University, CUST, NUTECH, UET Taxila, and COMSATS University actively participated, showcasing innovative projects in energy efficiency, HVACR systems, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. The conference provided a vibrant platform for students to demonstrate their technical skills, exchange ideas, and interact with professionals from academia and industry.
The Chief Guest, Engr. Ramzan Sharif, commended the creativity and technical expertise of the students and appreciated the efforts of HITEC University and its Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) for organizing such an impactful event that promotes applied research, innovation, and industry academia linkages.
In recognition of contributions, Prof. Dr. Junaid Ali Khan, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology presented shields to the distinguished guests. In his concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Liaqat Ali, Director ORIC, emphasized the significance of such initiatives in nurturing innovation, fostering collaboration, and preparing students to address future technological challenges.

Empowering financial responsibility!

FBR officials conducted a Tax Awareness Session at HITEC University, guiding participants on filing tax returns and answering key questions. Shields were presented to our distinguished guests in recognition of their efforts.

HITEC University Taxila, through its Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GlaxIT to enhance collaboration in areas of internships, incubation, industry-based Final Year Projects, seminars, and industry-focused curriculum development.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. S. Kamran Afaq, Worthy Vice Chancellor HITEC University, and Mr. Muhammad Kashif, CEO GlaxIT. The ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Liaqat Ali, Director ORIC, and Prof. Dr. Tahir Nadeem Malik, Director Quality.

The GlaxIT team also visited the Computer Science Department, where they were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Junaid Ali Khan, Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology. The delegation visited advanced labs, including the High-Performance Computing Lab with GPU facilities, and expressed appreciation for the infrastructure.

This milestone marks another achievement by ORIC in bridging the gap between academia and industry, ensuring students are well-prepared for professional challenges and opportunities.

ROBO FIESTA 7.0, Pakistan's largest technical robotics mega event, was successfully held at HITEC University from February 25-27. Organized by HI ROBO TEC, the event showcased cutting-edge technology and creativity with over 1,000 participants and thousands of audience members. The event featured 25+ competitions on robotics, including Robo War, Technical, and Computing. A vibrant carnival with 20+ stalls, a tremendous DJ night, musical sessions by renowned singers, Emiros Jamming Session, and Ehle Zoq poetry added to the excitement.
The event's success was made possible by the unwavering support and guidance of Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive HI ROBO TEC, Dr. S Kamran Afaq, who continuously trusted Faculty Head HI ROBO TEC, Sir Muhammad Mahad Shah, and Sir Hammad Asghar.
Special thanks are due to the University Administration, particularly the Director Administration, Registrar, Dean, and all Departments Chairpersons, especially Chairperson Mechanical Engineering Dr. Fahad Sarfraz Butt, for their continuous support throughout, and university teachers, who played pivotal roles. Our esteemed Chief Guest, Treasurer, Director Students Affairs, and all respective students were the backbone of this mega event.

HITEC University Achieves Another Milestone in Engineering Accreditation! The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) conducted a re-accreditation visit for BS Civil Engineering and BS Mechanical Engineering programs, along with an accreditation visit for BS Biomedical Engineering, on 26-27 February 2025.

The PEC expert panel, comprising senior professors, rigorously assessed our programs by evaluating on-campus facilities and ensuring compliance with Washington Accord standards.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the evaluation team and everyone who contributed to this achievement! This accreditation reaffirms that HITEC University's engineering degrees are globally recognized in countries like Australia, the USA, Canada, Japan, and many more, paving the way for international career opportunities for our graduates.
