9th Open house / Job Fair

HITEC University has organized its 9th Open House and Job Fair on Thursday 13th of July 2023. Major General Shakir Ullah Khattak, HI (M), Chairman Board of Governors HITEC University was the Chief Guest. A total of 138 Final Year Design Projects (FYDPs) displayed in the event. 
Mechanical Engineering Department showcased 44 projects in the autonomous fields of robotics, automotive, defense system, human aid system and solar technology. 
Electrical Engineering Department has a total of 37 projects designed on efficient integration of renewable generation in the power system. In electronics, projects were based primarily on IOT, AI and Fuzzy. 
Department of Computer Engineering displayed 9, and Computer Sciences displayed 38 projects with prime focus on robotics, machine, artificial intelligence, surveillance system and human aid systems. 
Civil Engineering Department displayed 10 projects focused on concrete for Nuclear power plants, soil stabilization and efficient transportation materials. 
Around fifty different Professionals and representatives from industries participated in the event. More than fifteen companies took on-spot interviews and offered jobs/called for second interview. The Chief Guest appreciated the management of the university in organizing the excellent event and expressed his pleasure over the quality of the developed projects by the Final Year Students of HITEC University.

PEC Accreditation visit of BS Civil Engineering program

The visitation team appointed by Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB) of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) conducted a two-day accreditation visit of HITEC University, Taxila on July 7-8, 2023 to evaluate the BS Civil Engineering program, for which the first accreditation visit for intake batch 2019 and onwards was due. During the visit, the team met with the Acting Vice Chancellor & Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Registrar, Treasurer and the HoD along with other stakeholders.The formal presentation pertaining to general aspects of HEI and its programs alongwith an overview of relevant Faculties was given by the Registrar on behalf of the Acting Vice Chancellor & Dean Engineering and Technology of the HEI.The departmental presentation was given by the Chairperson of the department. After the departmental presentation, the Convener of visitation team along with PEC representative visited the general facilities of the institution i.e., Central Library, Faculty Cafeteria, Nusrat Auditorium, Iqbal Auditorium, Students Cafeteria, Boys Hostel, HIT Day Care Center, Gymnasium, Indoor and Outdoor Sports facilities and Swimming Pool area etc. After that, meetings were held with various stakeholders like Director QAC, Registrar, Treasurer, Controller of Examination, Placement & Student Affairs Officers etc. In parallel, the program evaluators visited the program specific facilities, i.e. classrooms and laboratories etc. Apart from comprehensive review of documents and evidence pertaining to various accreditation criteria, the team also held meetings and interviews with all the stakeholders such as students, faculty, staff members, alumni and employers.

Welcome party for Batch-2022

The students of Batch-2021 of the civil engineering department organized a welcome party for their junior fellows of Batch-2022. This event was focused to enhance the managerial and interpersonal skills of the students by participation in extracurricular activities. The students actively participated in various activities focusing on social values, cultural harmony and human well-being.

YPDC Oath Taking Ceremony

Mr. Ahsan Iqbal the Minister of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives for the Government of Pakistan was chief guest of oath taking ceremony for Young Peace & Development Corps (YPDC). Ministry of Planning and Development started an initiative with name of YPDC which aims to actively mobilize youth to participate in the peace & socio-economic development of Pakistan. HITEC University also started YPDC Chapter and was part of this oath taking ceremony.

Tree Plantation Drive

Character Building Society in collaboration with Punjab Forest department, taxila range, Rawalpindi South conducted a plantation drive. The Honorable Vice Chancellor inaugurated this drive by planting a tree. Faculty and students from different departments participated in this event. Planting trees helps to mitigate effects of climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and producing oxygen, which helps to purify the air.
